What Publishers' Weekly calls "a grotesque and disturbing visual experience" is an impressive work of horror, fantasy, and biography. In this graphic novel, screenwriter Hans Rodionoff, comics writer Keith Giffen (known for DC Comics Legion of Super-Heroes, Justice League, and Lobo), and comic artist Enrique Breccia take up an imaginative exploration of Lovecraft's life, one in which he is haunted by terrifying creatures, which may be troubled visions or may be real. Relatively unknown during his lifetime, Lovecraft's life and the tragedies that marked it have long been a subject of curiosity. ![]() Indeed, Lovecraft's work has had a major influence on horror, science fiction, and fantasy, inspiring some of the best writers and filmmakers of our time. Lovecraft is renowned for his strange, supernatural, and horrific inventions, most notably the demon Cthulu, a terrifying enormous tentacled creature who has been firmly entrenched as one of the ultimate monsters in popular culture.
